We are street-children crew

It's wonderful if we share....

Learning has become a staple in the present. Advances in technology and science has led to today's information can be available in unlimited quantities and with easy access. It makes a lot of changes and the development of various aspects of life. These changes would need to be responded to and matched by performance-oriented education that not only the field of advanced science and technology, but also in strengthening religious values itself. Ironically, in the era of the all advanced today there are many generations of people who cannot afford an education due to limited funds and the social environment is less feasible. One is the street children. It is not just the responsibility of government alone but also a shared responsibility.

The crisis phenomena both in general education and religion-oriented, it not just a mere concern. But this happens in our country, especially in the countryside. As in the Delikrejo, they are predominantly rural communities to work as street beggars, street singers, as well as scavengers.

Many children all over the world live on the streets. They do not get proper meals, healthcare, education and they live in a very unhealthy and unsafe environment. Also in Semarang, central Java, Indonesia you can see these kids on the busy street corners. Little children are being used to make money for their parents by begging on the streets. In some cases parents “rent out” children to other people who use them to make money on the streets. The children live in terrible circumstances, come mostly from poor, sometimes broken families or families coping with problems as drugs, alcohol, gambling, unemployment, sex abuse etc.

Enough reasons to take action!

Indoshelter gives these children the possibility to get pre-school education and homework guidance in a clean, healthy and happy environment.

The other part of the glitter of the city of Semarang is the existence of street children. The other street, shoeshine boys and beggars "kids" in the red light intersection. Street children have traits, ranging in age from 5 to 18 years, carries on or wandering the streets, mostly dull appearance and dress neglected, high mobility. Street children are children who categorized helpless. They are victims of various deviations from the individuals irresponsible. For that, they need to be empowered through democratization, the generation of economy, justice and the rule of law, political participation, as well as outside of school education. Street-children, in essence, are "the kids", together with other children who are not street children. For the empowerment of street children is not enough just given stimulus material, but the most important thing is to be given the right to obtain "access" to change lives. The lives of street children can be changed and they can be initiated when the minimum skills education can increase the "dignity" and "dignity" of street children.
Empowerment of street children is not enough just to be a stimulant in the form of money and enough to eat, but should be given the "hook" to improve their skills.

Indoshelter is an educational community-center for street-children and their parents in Semarang. The objectives of Indoshelter are to provide day care, homework guidance group and other lesson, safe and clean shelter, basic medical assistance, daily fruit and milk for all the children, facilitate parent-meeting, education of local staff, volunteers and parents on child care, healthy behaviour, physical and psycological development of children and the importance of keeping the children from the streets.

We believe it is important that children learn to think out of the box, so we provide a creative program. This contents music and dance both in traditional or modern, art and craft for all ages. Cooking and sewing for the older ones. When children are able to find solutions out of the ordinary, we believe they will be more successful in life.

It is good to see, we can really do something for this community! But without the donations of our sponsors this was impossible! If we want to continue this program for the community in Delikrejo we need more donations. If you are interested in more information please visit our facebook on Indoshelter Semarang or for contact email with Indoshelter@gmail.com
